Help After Clicking "Go":

After clicking "Go" you are first taken to the "Output Text" window. Here you can amend the text that will appear on the output web page. If you are using an MP3 file then the default value is read from the artist and title details of the ID3v2 or ID3v1 tags within the MP3 file. If the MP3 contains no details or if you are using a WAV file then the default will be the input file name.

After clicking "OK" on the "Output Text" window the "Working" window appears: This is where the output streaming music is created.  You can cancel creation at any time with the "Cancel" button. If you do this then any partially created output files will be deleted.

Reading in, analysing and cleaning:

The input file is read in, your chosen bit rate, sample rate and other properties are analysed (it could be a variable bit rate file). Note, the original input file is not altered in any way, but the ID3v1 tags at the end of the file are removed from the program’s copy of the data. ID3v2 tags are removed from the start of the file. Other headers are removed and any corrupt data is removed. These tags and corrupt data would be ignored by the Flash player and only unnecessarily increase the size of the output file.

Writing output files:

The data you entered is used to create the streaming Flash animation. Your chosen controller is copied over with the correct name and a web page that launches the controller is produced.

When all of these stages are completed it will cross to the output window, and a "Launch Output" button appears. Click this to launch the newly created output with your default browser.

The names of the output files are listed.

The output files go into the output folder that is chosen in "Options" (defaults to the desktop). Each time a set of files is created a different output file number is used (the next number to use can be changed in "Options"). So for example, the first time the program produces output it will create files with the names "hifias1.htm", "hifias1c.swf" and "hifias1s.swf". See note about "Instructions" below.

"hifias1.htm" is the output web page. In it is an <object> section that loads the controller Flash animation.

"hifias1c.swf" is the controller Flash animation. When it is run and the play button is clicked, it will load the streaming Flash animation. See note about "Instructions" below.

"hifias1s.swf" is the streaming Flash animation.

Note: if bare output has been selected then there will be no controller animation (the web page loads the streaming animation directly). In this example there would just be "hifias1.htm and "hifias1s.swf".

The program has been enhanced to send instructions to the controller such as "Initially stopped, plays sound once". The way it does this is to give the controller a different name. So "hifias1c.swf" is the default with looping, but "hifias1d.swf" is without looping. So be aware that the letter in the controller name can change. (After the output has been created by the program the output file names are listed.)
