Streaming Audio For Your Website And Blogs

I have seen someone hover their mouse over a streaming audio file and using something unknown, the file is downloaded. Does anybody know what this is called..I've browsed the FAQs of many Firefox add-ons, etc and I am still not sure. sorry..what I mean is..they hovered the mouse over the song file, which is one of several songs listed on a flash player, and clicked it, and using some sort of function they were able to download it. it was an mp3, I am pretty sure.
