Streaming Audio For Your Website And Blogs

Ok, this problem is driving me nuts. I have a dell desktop with an integrated sigmatel driver and vista. Of course, like many other dells with sigmatel, the line-in function doesn't work as they've disabled it. This means I can't record computer/streaming audio in various programs. I've searched everywhere for solutions and I've tried everything people claimed worked for them like installing xp drivers or installing the newest sigma drivers but nothing has worked so far for me... ive seen suggested solutions of changing/adding registry but I don't exactly know how that works... I'm not an expert in computers but if someone can explain in simple steps how I can fix this please... ty
